Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students

The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is one of the UK's leading teaching and research universities, with a wide variety of undergraduate courses.

We offer a large number of International Undergraduate MeritScholarships (IUMS) for international students who study for theirfirst degree at Newcastle. All applicants are considered, based on theinformation given on their UCAS application form. This partialscholarship has a value of £1,500 for the first year of study.

To be eligible for an IUMS scholarship, international students :

• Must have been offered a place to study on one of our undergraduate degree programmes (except medicine and dentistry)
• Must have been assessed as overseas for fees purposes
• Have already achieved or will achieve an agreed level of academic performance in their pre-university qualifications
• Have already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university.

In addition, some schools offer bursaries to international students on certain degree programmes. The university also offers International Family Scholarships (IFS).
