International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (IUMS) for internationalstudents who study for their first degree at Newcastle. All applicantsare considered, based on the information given on their UCASapplication form. This partial scholarship has a value of £1,500 forthe first year of study.

To be eligible for an IUMS scholarship, international students :
    * Must have applied through UCAS before 30 June 2006and been offered a place to study on one of our undergraduate degreeprogrammes (except medicine and dentistry - applicants to theseprogrammes are not eligible)
    * Must have been assessed as overseas for fees purposes
    * Have already achieved or will achieve an agreedlevel of academic performance in their pre-university qualifications
    * Have already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university.
