Tasmania University Scholarships

Tasmania University Scholarships are available to students who have performed very well at school, TAFE or in the initial years of university and who are enrolling for the first time at the University of Tasmania.

Up to 15 Tasmania University Scholarships will be offered in 2005. Each scholarship has a monetary value of $3,000 per year for up to four years, (i.e. up to $12,000) provided you continue to perform well in your studies. However, the scholarship may be packaged to provide greater value for individual students to meet some or all of the tuition fees for the course.

At least two scholarships will be provided in the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery covering the cost of the course fees. As a general guide, Tasmania University Scholarships will only be offered to students achieving an ITI (TER) of 98 or greater, or who have achieved at a similar high standard in a TAFE or university course.

International students who have completed Year 12 in a school in Tasmania or Australia may apply for these awards.

Additional Tasmania University Scholarships are provided through the University of Tasmania Foundation to both commencing and current students. These are sponsored by individuals, Tasmanian and Australian industry, business and governments. Selection will be based largely on your school or university results, although some scholarships in this category have other eligibility requirements specified by the donors.
