TheMinistry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan(Monbukagakusho) offers scholarships to Indonesian high schoolgraduates who wish to study at University (S-1); College of Technology(D-3) or Special Training College (D-2) in Japan for the academic year2006 (April 2006). An applicant can only apply for one program, eitherS-1, D-3 or D-2.

Applicants must have the following qualifications (among others);

  1. Applicants must be less than 22 years of age as of April 1, 2006.

  2. Theaverage result of the final examination (STK) and school report for thelast semester/term of the third scholastic year must be at a minimum;
        8.0 for applicants who are interested in taking the S-1 program,
        7.7 for applicants who are interested in taking the D-3 program,
        7.2 for applicants who are interested in taking the D-2 program.
    note: Inthe case that an official STK can not be issued by the closing date(July 8, 2005), a temporary STK which is certified by the head teacherwill be accepted (for graduates of 2005).

  3. Applicants must have graduated from a senior high school.

Applicationforms are available free of charge for those who meet the abovequalifications at the Embassy of Japan (Education Section:08:30-12:00,14:00-15:30), the Consulate General of Japan in Surabaya, Medan andMakassar starting from May 26th, 2005.

Application forms may be sent to those who are living outside ofJABODETABEK and who fulfill the above requirements. Interested personsmust send a request (name, date of birth, address, phone number,desired program (S-1, D-3 or D-2) and 3 desired fields of study arerequired) to the Embassy of Japan by fax (021-3192-4820) or by post(Jl. M.H.Thamrin 24, Jakarta Pusat 10350) along with their copies ofSTK, school report and certificate (STTB). The embassy must receive allrequests for application forms by June 24, 2005.

Thecompleted application must be submitted to the Embassy of Japan (theConsulate Generals of Japan will not accept the documents) with theSTK, school report and STTB by July 8, 2005. Applicants who pick up theforms in person at the Embassy must submit the completed form within 3days. In the case that the result of the final examination has not beenreleased at the time of submission, the STK and STTB must be submittedto the Embassy as soon as it is released.
