International undergraduate scholarships

In 2002 the University of Sydney commenced its new scholarshipscheme for international students who complete the NSW Higher SchoolCertificate (or an equivalent matriculation exam such as theInternational Baccalaureate) and apply for admission to anundergraduate degree via the University Admissions Centre (UAC).

Thescholarships have a value of $5000 per annum for a maximum of 5 years.The scholarships are offered in the areas of Science and Technology;Humanities and Socal Sciences; and Health Sciences. They are awarded onthe basis of academic merit and other personal attributes, such asdemonstrated leadership or other skills.

For eligibility,students need to achieve a minimum UAI of 95. (NB students applying tothe Sydney College of the Arts or the Conservatorium of Music mustachieve a UAI of at least 90 and be among the top 5 per cent ofapplicants, assessed by portfolio or performance). Application formswill be available on the University's website in July and August eachyear.
