What’s offered?
The School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland offers up to 8 Full or Half Scholarships into Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems, Electrical, Mechatronic or Software), Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Science (Computer Science), or Bachelor of Multimedia Design programs. These scholarships cover tuition fees for up to two years for Undergraduate/Honours programs.
The value of these scholarships for 2006 are up to AU$11,600.00 per semester to AU$46,400.00 maximum for full scholarships, and up to AU$5,800.00 per semester to a maximum of AU$23,200.00 for half Scholarships. The awards are subject to satisfactory achievement each semester. There are no bonding conditions attached to these Scholarships.
Please note: you must have already submitted an application to study at The University of Queensland, and have received at least a Conditional Offer for one of our School’s undergraduate programs prior to applying for one of the Scholarships.

Who can apply?
Recent Diploma graduates (within 3 years) from overseas institutions, or other partially completed programs that qualify for advanced standing towards the UQ degrees in Engineering and Information Technology.

What are the Selection Criteria?
The Selection Criteria for these scholarships are based on two main areas of achievement:
- Academic achievement as demonstrated by an excellent academic record.
- Leadership potential as demonstrated by non academic pursuits such as high profile sport activities, participation in and leadership of ex-curricula organisational activities, such as societies, charities etc.
How do I apply?
You should have already submitted an International Student Application for Undergraduate Studies to The University of Queensland or to an authorised International Educational Representative in your home country. Once you have received an Offer from The University of Queensland, you can submit a Scholarship Application.
All Scholarship applications are to be made by completing the online form and submitting required .pdf attachments. These documents include a full CV with both e-mail and postal addresses, a certified academic record of marks or grades from your home institution, and a separate statement that addresses the two selection criteria as outlined above. Applicants should also supply two (2) references that support their applications in the leadership criteria.
There is no interview for the scholarship. The closing date for receipt of all applications is 1st December of the year preceding intended arrival at the University of Queensland. All applications will be acknowledged by return e-mail.
When are the Scholarships announced?
All applicants will be notified as to the outcome of their application by approximately one month after the closing date of applications.
