Highlights of Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Scholarship Awards
$1500.00 minimum per yearA scholarship holder may reapply for a second year, but not for more than two years.

Eligibility
A student may apply for any academic year when he or she will be an undergraduate of at least junior standing in a chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, metallurgy or materials science program where the focus of the curriculum is in surface science subjects.Award selections will be based on, but not limited to: career interest in surface finishing, scholarship, achievement, motivation and potential. Awards are not necessarily based on financial need.

Procedures and Rules
* Students should complete and submit an Undergraduate Application and only the required supporting documents
* Applications for each year must be postmarked by April 15
* Award notices will be sent during July or August
* Cash awards will be sent directly to the college or university, to be credited to the recipient’s account
* College and university departments are requested not to reduce federal, state or institutional support for the students who receive AESF scholarships
* Scholarship recipients are encouraged to submit a report or paper at the conclusion of the award period
