Undergraduate Scholarships
The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for internationalstudents undertaking undergraduate study in 2006.
The Adelaide Achiever Scholarships International (AASI)
(Colombo Plan - MACC)
Up to 2 Adelaide Achiever Scholarships may be available to international students who are citizens of Malaysia undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of 50% tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
The Adelaide Achiever Scholarships International (AASI)

Up to 11 Adelaide Achiever Scholarships may be available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of 50% tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
* Scholarships awarded to students undertaking the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery program are only available for the first four years.
Application Process
There is no separate application process for any of the abovescholarships. An application for admission to the University in 2006will constitute an application for a scholarship. All applications foradmission consistent with the eligibility and selection criteria willbe considered automatically for a scholarship.
An application fee of $50 must accompany the application foradmission. This fee is waived for applications made through an IDPEducation Australia office, or a nominated University representativeoverseas.
The deadlines for receipt of applications and complete supporting documentation are:

Successful Undergraduate scholarship recipients will be informed in January and in June 2006.
Conditions
- Scholarships will be awarded strictly on academic merit. Extra- curricular achievements will not be considered.
- Since the AASI undergraduate scholarships are primarily for school leavers,applicants who have commenced tertiary studies at the time of application willnot be considered.
- Scholarships are available only for the first degree in combined degree/double degree programs.
- Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible for any of the above scholarships.
- Candidates are required to enrol in The University of Adelaide as"international students" and must maintain "internationalstudent" status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
- Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status areineligible to apply.
- Scholarships are available for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory progress. Extensions beyond the normal duration of the programare not available.
- All successful recipients will be required to pay their own Overseas Student Health Cover each year.
- Scholarships holders must commence study in The University of Adelaide in 2006. By negotiation, winners scheduled to commence in Semester I, 2006 may defer until Semester II, 2006. Scholarship winners will not be permitted to defercommencement until 2006.
