Various Contries: Awards for Doctoral Fieldwork in Environmental and Resource Economics
The Economy & Environment Program for SE Asia (EEPSEA) providesawards to cover the costs of fieldwork required for doctoral degreeprograms. The awards are open to nationals of EEPSEA membercountries who intend to remain in or return to Asia followingcompletion of their studies. Member countries are Thailand,Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao PDR,China, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka.
The awards cover the costs of fieldwork for up to one year,including one return economy class airfare. Requests for tuition orstipends will not be considered. Awardees will be eligible and, infact, are encouraged to apply for subsequent EEPSEA research awards,after completing their studies and returning to work in Asia.
Where feasible, applicants will be invited to one of EEPSEA’sbiannual research workshops.
The maximum period covered by the awards is one year. Given the widevariations in research costs among EEPSEA countries, budget ceilingshave been set as follows:
China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines CAD 30,000
Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, PNG CAD 20,000
There are no fixed deadlines for applications.
