Job description: Full research assistantships are immediately available for students wishing to do graduate (Ph.D) studies in geophysics/seismology. We seek individuals with a strong background in mathematics and (geo)physics. Willingness to do fieldwork and participate in research cruises is essential. Experiences with the Linux/Unix operating system and high performance cluster computation are desirable.
The successful candidates will work within an active group of students, faculty, and visiting scientists that has a strong interest in the development of finite-frequency tomographic methods and their applications to image seismic velocity and attenuation structures of the earth from local to global scales.
