The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at the Universityof Manchester is one of the worlds leading schools of engineering with aninternational reputation for the quality of its research. We are pleased tooffer a number of scholarships to aid applicants to pursue research towardsa PhD from September 2006.
Applicants will only be considered for the School of MACE ResearchScholarships if they have completed the standard University of Manchesterpostgraduate application process and have a proposed project title. Awardholders will be selected solely on the basis of academic excellence andresearch potential. The expected level of competition for these awards meansthat it is probable that successful nominees will normally hold, or expectto achieve the equivalent of a UK First class honours degree in anEngineering discipline, Mathematics, or a closely related technical subject,before the programme of research is due to begin.
Research at the School is focused into a number of research groups withinternational standing and a critical mass of researchers.
