UK: Research Fellowships in Manufacturing Systems and Management

School of Engineering, Computer Science & Maths [Exeter Manufacturing and Enterprise Centre (XMEC)] (Research) Two new full-time posts are available from 1 September 2005 on a fixed-term basis for a two year period in the first instance. Exeter Manufacturing and Enterprise Centre (XMEC) is a leading research centre in the Southwest with a focus on manufacturing systems and management. Partnering with both world class manufacturing companies and SMEs across the UK, the Centre's activity covers Agile/Lean Enterprise, Dynamically Integrated Manufacturing Systems, Supply Chain Modelling, Optimisation, Analysis and Integration, e-Business/e-Manufacturing, Business Process Modelling and Analysis, and Operations Research and Supply Chain Logistics. The centre consists of over 20 researchers with grant support in excess of £1.2 million including both leading-edge academic research and applied Knowledge Transfer projects. We are seeking two research fellows with a strong background in manufacturing engineering/systems/management and excellent communication skills, one with a strong background in agile/lean enterprise, manufacturing systems and business performance analysis, the other in supply chain modelling and simulation, manufacturing information systems, and e-manufacturing. Both posts are expected to have a PhD and relevant experience of working with/in industry. Both are expected to contribute to research, teaching and industrial projects within the centre.
