Centre for East European Language-Based Area Studies, Postgraduate Opportunities

Under a recently announced UK strategic initiative, the HEFCE/AHRC/ESRC have confirmed a major award of £5.6m to set up a collaborative Centre for East European Language-Based Area Studies (CEELBAS).

UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), Russian and East European Studies (REES) at Oxford University and the Centre for Russian and East European Studies (CREES) at the European Research Institute, Birmingham University, invite applications for Postgraduate study in 2006-07 for the following programmes:

• MRes in East European Studies at UCL
• MPhil in Russian and East European Studies at Oxford
• PhD at UCL
• DPhil at Oxford
• PhD at Birmingham

The Centre is able to offer full scholarships for all of the above programmes (total of 38 Masters and 33 PhD/DPhil) subject to standard ESRC eligibility rules.
