Applications are invited for up to three PhD studentships in thefollowing research areas:
- The role of radical rhetoric in the incitement of terrorism
- Terrorist use of the media and media coverage of terrorism
- Terrorist uses of the internet
Outstanding applications wishing to pursue studies of otherterrorism-related issues will also be considered. However, at leasttwo of the awards will be made in the above fields.
The successful candidates are expected to contribute to tutoring andmarking E-learning courses in Terrorism Studies. In collaboration withCSTPV’s Data Manager, they will also engage in the collection andanalysis of terrorist communiqués, court testimonies, ideologicalwritings etc, with an eye to deciphering how terrorists and theiraudiences assess and experience violence. Relevant language skillswill be an advantage in this context.
Each Scholarship involves the waiving of fees and maintenance grantpayments of £10,000 per annum over four years.
