UK: PhD Studentships in Psychological Child Development, Imperial College London
Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship in theInstitute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology, Imperial CollegeLondon, funded by the National Institutes of Health.
The research will be carried out in collaboration with the Children ofthe Nineties population study (ALSPAC) in Bristol, and the Universityof Rochester, USA, but will be based in London. Applicants shouldpossess/expect at least an upper second-class honors life sciencedegree, and be interested in fetal programming, child development andits biological basis. The project will involve relating the maternalemotional state during pregnancy and the outcome for the child, with aparticular focus on the function of the HPA axis. The student willcarry out saliva cortisol essays and data analysis, and will also beable to develop some related independent projects.
The studentship is available as soon as possible. The stipend will be£15,500 pa, with EU/UK rate fees paid in addition. The grant does notcover the extra PhD fees for non-EU nationals.
