PhD Studentships in Electronic Engineering School of Electronics and Computer Science
The School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) has an outstanding reputation for research in electronic engineering.
We have an international research reputation, a thriving graduate school, and excellent facilities. We are currently building a £55M interdisciplinary clean room, which will open in August 2008. We currently have around 500 researchers, encompassing 100 academic staff (40 full professors), 150 research staff, and 250 PhD students. The School’s research is rated ‘very best 5*’ (2001 RAE).
Funded studentships of up to *£12,600* plus payment of tuition fees are offered in Electronic Engineering, covering a wide range of multidisciplinary subject areas, including advanced MOS and bipolar devices; algorithms for analogue and digital simulation and test; analogue and RF
integrated circuit design; ARTIC; bioelectronics and microfluidics; electronic systems design; intelligent sensor systems; MEMs; quantum electronic devices; self-powered Microsystems; silicon-based optoelectronics; system-on-chip.
If you want to undertake doctoral research in a stimulating environment, to gain a rigorous research training, to be able to take advantage of outstanding facilities and be surrounded by enthusiastic and highly committed people from a range of different and interesting backgrounds, then this is the place to be.
