UK: PhD Studentships in Aerospace Composites
The Composites Research Unit within the Department of MechanicalEngineering, University of Bath invites applications for five, 3-year, fully funded PhD studentships in the following project areas(with supervisors):
The studentships start in October 2006 and will be funded at thenormal rate (full home student fees plus a tax-free stipend of£12,000), with the opportunity of undertaking additional paidundergraduate teaching. They form part of a collaborative programmeof research with Airbus, Westland Helicopters, Rolls Royce and theGreat Western Research Alliance. They are also complemented by aseries of linked PhD projects to be undertaken at the University ofBristol.
Experience in some of the following areas is desirable: aerospacestructures; composite materials; FEA and experimental testing ofmaterials & structures; computing/ programming.
