UK: PhD Studentships at Research Institute for Law, Politics & Justice, Keele University

TheResearch Institute for Law, Politics & Justice is a new structuredesigned to encourage and develop interdisciplinary research withinthese three areas of existing research excellence at Keele University.Applications are invited for four full-time three-year doctoralstudentships within any of the research priority areas covered by theResearch Institute including: Crime, Violence & Risk; CommunitySafety and Social Order; Crime History; Punishment, Policing &Social Control; Political and International Theory; European Politics;International Relations; Environmental Politics & Policy; Criticaland Socio-Legal Studies; Law, Gender and Sexuality; Medical Law andEthics; Law, Markets and Regulation; Migration & InternationalHuman Rights.The studentships will begin in September 2006 andwill include funding for three years to cover fees for PhD registration(at home/EU rates) and a research studentship stipend at the researchcouncil rate (currently £12,000 per annum). These studentships areexpected to be highly competitive, so you are encouraged to makecontact with possible supervisors and talk about your project beforeapplying.
