UK: PhD Studentship in Veterinary Research at University of Nottingham
An Investigation in to the Significance of Hock Lesions in UK Dairy Cattle.
Project Supervisors: Dr Jon Huxley and Professor Martin Green (School ofVeterinary Medicine & Science) and Dr John Harris (School of Biosciences)
A postgraduate student is required with a background in either animal orveterinary science to undertake a three year research project leading to aPhD degree.
The successful student will undertake high quality training in the designand implementation of large scale field based surveys, handling andstatistical analysis of large data sets, veterinary pathology and theassessment of pain in cattle. They will follow the guidelines established byThe University of Nottingham for the training of postgraduate students,attending all necessary courses. The student will be based at the Universityof Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington campus.
Students should have an upper second class degree or better inbiological/biomedical/veterinary sciences. Those with a 2.2, but with arelevant MSc or MPhil will also be considered.
*This studentship, which is available from January 2007, only providesfunding for students from the UK/EU*.
