UK: PhD Studentship in Multimodal Biometrics at University of Hertfordshire


Multimodal BiometricsSchool of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering. Applications are invited for a PhD studentship based in the School ofElectronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering at the University ofHertfordshire.

The project is conducted in collaboration with BT’s Security Research Centreand is concerned with multimodal biometrics with particular emphasis onvoice biometrics as one of the modalities.

You should have at least an upper second-class honours degree inElectronic/Communication Engineering, Computer Science or a relateddiscipline. Additionally, you should possess a working knowledge of digitalsignal processing and C++. Having an MSc in a relevant field and/orexperience of statistical signal and speech processing will be advantageous.

The studentship is offered for a maximum of three years. It will cover theUniversity tuition fees at UK/EU level, and will provide a tax free bursary.This is £12,300 per annum for 2006-2007.

Although preference will be given to UK/EU students, other overseasapplicants are welcome to apply.
