UK: PhD Studentship in Microelectronics - Cranfield University
PhD StudentshipIntegrated Functional Materials for System-in-a-Package Applications
A funded PhD is available for someone who is a creative, practicallyminded scientist or engineer wishing to explore what the possibilitiesare for integrating new functional materials into clever miniaturedevices, particularly for high frequency microwave applications. Theposition arises as the result of the Microsystems Activity atCranfield gaining an EPSRC Flagship project titled “IntegratedFunctional Materials for System-in-a-Package Applications” The studentwill collaborate with other PhD students and be exposed to scientiststhat are expert in microelectronic fabrication, analytical andnumerical modelling, and device design. The student will be expectedto demonstrate working devices and sensors and to gain a fullunderstanding of their operation through measurement and mathematicalmodelling. Studies will be on the dimensional slope leading fromMicrosytems to Nanotechnology.
