As part of the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics (SIRE) www.econ.ed.ac.uk/sire, initiative the Business School at the University of Aberdeen is offering a PhD studentship in Economics. The Studentship consists of an award of £15,000 per annum for three years (subject to satisfactory progress) to cover tuition fees and maintenance. It may be awarded in any field of economics where we can offer supervision. The start date for the studentship is September or October 2007.
Candidates should normally have attained (or be expected to attain soon) an MSc in Economics or equivalent. In order to apply for the award students must have either received an offer to study for a PhD at the University of Aberdeen or have submitted an application to study for a PhD at the University.
The closing date for applications is 31st May 2007. All applicants will also be considered for the postgraduate awards offered by the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS).
