The Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain is offering a 3 year DPhil/PhD studentship in MRI physics to begin Oct 2009.

The awards cover:

  • Direct payment of tuition fees (either the standard UK/EU rate)
  • Research council maintenance allowance for accommodation and living expenses
  • Oxford college fees

The student will develop an expertise in MRI physics, including biophysical theory and the design and implementation of new methods on the University of Oxford’s state-of-the-art high-field human MRI scanners. Previous experience in advanced programming languages such as C or C++, and familiarity with environments such as Matlab would be a definite advantage.

Entry criteria
Studentships and bursaries are awarded on academic merit and are open to applicants from the UK/EU.

Applications are invited from recent graduates or final year undergraduates. Applicants should hold or expect to gain a first or upper second-class honours undergraduate degree from either a 4-year course or a Masters program. Applications are invited from U.K. residents or EU nationals.
