An MSc (by Research) full-time studentship funded by GoodrichAerospace tenable for 1 year (subject to satisfactory progress). Thestudentship will cover the cost of tuition fees up to UK/EU rates andpay a maintenance grant of £12,300 per annum. Overseas applicants mayapply, but will be required to pay the difference between home andoverseas fee rates. Applicants should have a first or second classhonours degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a relevant subject.

Project title Tribological evalution of bearing coatings

This investigation is directed towards developing a betterunderstanding of the tribological behaviour of a range of bearingcoatings. Emphasis will be placed on developing an understanding ofthe frictional and wear history of a range of coatings operated withlimited lubrication.
