The Department of Politics and International Relations at RoyalHolloway, University of London invites applications from prospectiveresearch students who wish to focus their research on the emergingforeign, security and defence policy of the European Union. Ofparticular interest are proposals dealing with the role of EuropeanUnion Member States in the development of the Common Foreign andSecurity Policy and the implication of the emergence of the EuropeanSecurity and Defence Policy on the EU’s international role.

The successful candidate will receive a departmental studentship(Home/EU Fees + Cost of Living) to fund their studies.
