Graduate Scholarships Research in Empirical Microeconomics

The IFS runs an annual Graduate Scholarship Programme which finances one ormore students for three years to undertake research leading to a degree ofPh.D. The scholarship is payable at the ESRC rate, currently £14,300pa. andfees will be paid.
IFS Scholars will register as full-time students at the Department ofEconomics, University College London and will have access to the extensiveresearch facilities of IFS and UCL. At IFS they will be associated with theESRC Centre for Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy. IFS has establishedan international reputation in Microeconometrics and EmpiricalMicroeconomics research and its relation to policy issues and your researchshould be relevant to these areas.
This year one of the Scholars will be expected to work in the field ofDevelopment Economics and will be affiliated with the Centre for theEvaluation of Development Policies (EDePo). One Scholar will be located inthe Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice (cemmap), a leadinginternational centre for development of econometric methods and from 2007 aResearch Centre of the ESRC.
