Applications are now open for the following postgraduatescholarships for the 2006/07 academic year.  The closing date forapplications is 31 October 2006.  

The Sir John Cass's Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships

The Sir John Cass'sFoundation has up to �40,000 of postgraduate scholarships to award in2006/7 to students from inner London studying at City University.  Themaximum value of an award will be �10,000 depending on circumstances. The awards will go towards living expenses and tuition fees and areintended to relieve financial hardship.  Applications are invited fromstudents who meet the following criteria:

• resident in inner London for more than 3 years
• under the age of 25
• achieved at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree
• from a low income background
• studying on a full time taught Masters programme and not already in possession of a postgraduate qualification
• Priority will be given to students with a disability

Shirley Robson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was first awarded in 2004 in memory of ShirleyRobson, mother of University council member Mark Robson.  Thescholarship value is �1000 for one year to an undergraduate orpostgraduate student of Music at City University.  In the words of MarkRobson:

"Three School of Arts students have now benefited from a ShirleyRobson Memorial Scholarship, established after my mother died in 2003. She would have been as delighted to meet each of them at the annualawards ceremony as I and my family have been.  �1000 can make a hugedifference, and the enthusiasm and gratitude of these scholars has beenrather humbling for me.  It has been a huge pleasure and an honour tobe able to provide a little help this way."

To apply for the Shirley Robson, download the application form (same as Undergraduate form) and return it to the Student Funds Service by the deadline.
