Its teaching and research staff are recruited globally and many of them have international visibility through cutting-edge research and pioneering publications. It has a cultural mix of research postgraduate students from all over the world who form an important and valued part of the University’s dynamic research team.

The University is now inviting applications for admission to read for the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) studies in Architecture, Arts, Business & Economics, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science, Social Sciences, Asian Studies and Urban Planning & Environmental Management. Full-time students are eligible to receive a monthly Postgraduate Studentship within the study period. The Studentships are tenable on an annual basis and are renewable upon satisfactory academic progress having been made and the availability of funding. In 2004-2005, the Studentships range from HK$150,000 to HK$175,200 (US$19,230 to US$22,460) per annum.

Eligibility
Applicants with a first degree at second class honours first division (or equivalent) or above who are admitted to the full-time MPhil or PhD programmes in the University.
