PhD position Agrotechnology & Food Science Group (Gelderland), 38 hours per week

Job description

We are offering a PhD research project on the properties and behaviourof novel, protein-inspired biopolymers with block structure:self-assembly, micellization, gel formation, conformations etc. as afunction of physicochemical parameters. The polymers arebiosynthesized through fermentation by gmo`s (yeasts) containing a denovo constructed gene encoding for the desired product.

Requirements

Required education/skills:University GraduateHighly motivated to work on a PhD thesis. A Masters degree withsufficient attention to physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, polymerphysics, biochemistry, or experimental physics; a general knowledge ofbiopolymers and some knowledge of molecular biology is a must.Knowledge of scientific English and the ability to express yourselfclearly both in writing and orally is necessary.

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2000 - 2500
Maximum salary amount in Euro`s a month 2472
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 3 years
Maximum hours per week: 38
Additional conditions of employment:A PhD contract for 1 year and a working week of 38 hours (full time).After a positive evaluation of the first year an extension of thecontract with 3 years is given.Salary: from € 1.933,- in the first year to € 2.472,- in the lastyear, based on full time employment.
