Information
A contract of employment is offered, initially for a period of 12months, extendable to four yearsupon a positive evaluation. Candidates may select one of the availableresearch themes or submittheir own project (www.feweb.vu.nl/project_themes). PhD students canrely on the intensivesupervision and the extensive training offered by the faculty’s leadingresearchers in the field. The Faculty offers opportunities to attendconferences, to meet other international researchers and to participatein high-quality discussion groups in support of publications. Theprospects for theFaculty’s doctoral graduates on the labour market are excellent, bothinside and outside the academic world.

Salary
The salary is based on the salary scales for academic staff. The salaryin the first year amounts to € 1.877,- gross per month, increasing to €2.407,- per month in the fourth year on the basis of fulltime employment.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a MSc or MPhil with good grades in Economics,Business Administration,Operations Research, Sociology, or a related discipline, depending alsoon the topic of the researchproject. We expect candidates to show a proactive research orientationand to be proficient inwritten and spoken English.
