The Faculty of Economics of the University of Lugano, Switzerland, opens aposition of Assistant in Finance & Accounting, starting in summer 2006. It isassumed that the candidate for this position is willing to begin a Ph.D. inFinance or Accounting at the University of Lugano

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Lugano, founded in 1996,provides an exciting environment in which to develop a research career. Theassistant position is involved in scientific programs at the Swiss FinanceInstitute (www.sfi.ch) and financed through the NCCR-FINRISK competencecentre in Finance of the Swiss National Science Foundation.

The candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree and Master in Economics or related discipline, withstrong foundation in quantitative methods
- Interest in Empirical Corporate Finance or Financial Accounting
- Excellent command of English.
- Good command of either German and/or Italian
