Sweden: PhD Student Position in Telematics Software Engineering
Chalmers University of Technology and Volvo Technology announce an open PhD research student position in the field of: “Telematics Software Engineering”
Vehicle telematics combines information technology, wireless telecommunication and in-vehicle electronics in order to improve safety, transportation efficiency, driver comfort and the environment.
The trends of vehicle telematics indicate that corporate services like vehicle logging, driver time management, etc, will coexist in the embedded in-vehicle software architecture. This put strong demands on a robust software architecture that will define the framework for telematics services and manage prioritization between them.
The research task is to explore new methods and tools to find, specify and verify non-functional automotive telematics requirements and their software architecture implications. The main focus will be on how dependability requirements, such as robustness, affect the software architectures. The applicability of the research results will be demonstrated on a real telematics platform.
The position, which is with Chalmers University of Technology, will include 80% research and 20% teaching assistance. The salary is based on the existing employment agreement for PhD student position at Chalmers.
Suitable background for candidates is M Sc in Computer Science and Engineering or corresponding.
