Sweden: PhD Student Position in Sound and Image Processing
1 – 3 PhD student positions at The School of Electrical Engineering (EES)
The research and education conducted by the Sound and Image Processing Lab focuses on the processing of audio-visual signals. Our research work ranges from basic research (where we solve signal processing and information theoretical problems relevant to audio-visual signals) to applications (where we create, for example, new audio and video coders). Our work is often performed in collaboration with industry and in the context of pan-European projects. More information about us is available on the Internet: http://www.ee.kth.se/sip
The following research areas are particularly relevant to the individual positions:
- Robust, adaptive coding algorithms for heterogeneous packet networks with application to audio and video signals
- Techniques to make existing (legacy) coding systems robust to packet loss
- Feature selection for speech recognition
