Full-Tuition Scholarship for Mexican and Central American Residents - Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) Program
Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) and Mundo Logístico (Editorial Fass, S.C.) are awarding one full tuition scholarship for qualified applicants from Mexico and Central America to undertake the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program in the academic year 2009-2010.
Description of the Program
The MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management program attracts top students from around the world to study and perform research in Zaragoza, Spain. The master’s degree is conferred by the University of Zaragoza. Graduates also receive a MIT-Zaragoza certificate.
?The ZLOG program builds on the successful curriculum at MIT, which has consistently been ranked first by US News & World Report in logistics and supply chain management. As part of the program, ZLOG students travel to the U.S. to attend seminars at MIT and visit companies.
?ZLOG requires nine months of full time study in English. In addition to core and elective coursework, the curriculum includes a thesis project that typically involves one or more companies. The program develops the analytical and leadership skills that companies seek in an increasingly technological and international marketplace.
?ZLOG is aimed at people with industry experience, but is open to anyone who can meet the entrance requirements.
Coverage of the Scholarship
The scholarship provides full tuition for ZLOG Program, which amounts to €21,500 to a student of the academic year 2009-2010.
The scholarship will not include other costs such as living or travel expenses to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange.
Scholarship Eligibility & Requirements
Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program through the Foundation’s regular admissions procedure.
The number of applicants seeking to pursue the ZLOG degree is high by which the selection standards are high and extremely competitive. The applicants should display exceptional academic achievement and distinctive personal accomplishment in addition to an interest in pursing a career in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
?Furthermore, eligible candidates must comply with the following criteria:
- Granted admission to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.
- Reside in Mexico or any other country of Central America when they apply. Residents from the following countries are eligible to apply: Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
- Completion of a four year undergraduate program equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Fulfill all requirements for admission to the MIT-Zaragoza Masters Program and must be short-listed for admissions by the ZLC Admissions Committee. (www.zlc.edu.es/zlog/admissions)
- Be fluent in English (minimum TOEFL score of 105 points in the Internet based test.)
- Demonstrate a GMAT score equivalent or higher than 650 or GRE score equivalent or higher than 760. Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have demonstrated strong academic achievement in completing a college degree - including some quantitative training - and evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language.
- Valid passport and visa to enter Spain and the US.
Apart from thesis or summer projects in a related field, the scholarship recipient will be a full time student and must not engage himself/herself in full-time employment during the course of study.

Candidates must fulfill all of the above-mentioned requirements and submit one original copy of the following documents to the ZLC Financial Aid Office:

Each scholarship applicant will fill out the scholarship application form including the following: an essay stating their interests, qualifications, and related experience; a statement describing their economical situation and explaining their reasons for applying for the scholarship.
2. Income Statement
Copy of employment contact, last pay slip or other official document that can account for the last salary received. (Not applicable for applicants who are currently full-time students).
3. Copy of Passport
4. Admissions Letter
Copy of the admissions letter to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.

Deadline for Application
The deadline for the “Mundo Logístico - ZLOG Mexican & Central American Scholarship” application is March 31st 2009. Early application is however encouraged. All supporting documentation to the application must be postmarked by the respective date listed above.?
Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
?Applicants will be notified by e-mail of the outcome and furthermore the scholarship holder will receive an award letter.
ZLOG Deposit Fee
Zaragoza Logistics Center and Mundo Logístico grant ZLOG application fee waivers to all applicants.
