PhD Scholarships 2005
Applicationsare invited for two scholarships in the Faculty of Education forpostgraduate research students commencing their studies in October2005.
The first scholarship is available for full-time or part-time study, and the second for part-time study only.
Bothscholarships cover the cost of Home/EU fees only. Applications from nonUK/EU students are welcome with the expectation that funds have beensecured to meet the difference in fee level.
The scholarshipswill be awarded for one year in the first instance, but may be renewedfor up to two more years (full-time) or three more years (part-time),subject to satisfactory progress.
Applications are invited in any of the following areas:
- early childhood studies;
- inclusive education;
- higher education studies;
- values in education;
- global education;
- citizenship;
- spiritual and moral education;
- Islamic education;
- continuing professional development;
- language and literacy;
- mathematics education;
- the policy and practice of teacher education;
- inter-professional learning;
- ICT and the learning process;
- science in the primary school;
- multicultural education.

Eligibility Criteria
Pleasenote that applicants must have been accepted for a place as apostgraduate research student before they will be considered aseligible for a scholarship. It is strongly advised that candidatesapply for a place on the programme at least 4 weeks before the closingdate for scholarship applications.

Candidatesin receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer of a place as aresearch student can apply for a scholarship on the appropriate formwhich can be obtained from Julie Perratt
Deadline
The deadline for recipt of applications is 30th June 2005.
Notification of Awards
Scholarshipapplications will be assessed on a competitive basis to reflectacademic merit. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within 4weeks of the deadline
