Postgraduate Scholarships
Scholarships are for full time multi-year postgraduate level courses at eligible New Zealand institutions.
Applicants are required to specify the developmental relevance and benefit of the course and provide a detailed account of the field in which they wish to conduct research if this is a course requirement. A supporting statement is also required from applicants, which shows clearly that consideration has been given to how the new skills and experience will be applied on their return home.
Selection criterion take account of the developmental relevance of the study course, proven academic ability, cost, current/prospective employment and gender equity.

There is limited provision for bridging courses and English Language training.
Postgraduate Scholarships cover tuition, enrolment/orientation fees, return economy fare travel, medical insurance and provision for students to meet course and basic living costs. Limited assistance may be available for dependants in New Zealand for courses of study 18 months or longer.

Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) are open to persons from the following developing countries for study in areas of developmental relevance to their home countries.

How to Apply
Candidates apply directly to an eligible institution and complete an application form. Complete applications will be forwarded by the institution to NZAID for consideration in the annual selection round (usually August/ September each year). The institution informs the applicant of the result.
