One PhD student position may become available in the area of Computational Science and Engineering, particularly on the subject of Tomographic Data Processing and its application to Materials Science and Engineering.

In the short term, the position effectively will depend on a successful application to a PhD grant funded by the “International Collaboratory for Emerging Technologies”, a cooperation initiative between Portuguese Universities and the University of Texas at Austin (www.utaustinportugal.org; www.fct.mctes.pt/bolsas/austin). The call for grants ends on the 24th September and the relevant field is that of “Advanced Computing”.
