PhD Studentships - Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Awards (DHPA) ,School of Biomedical Sciences and School of Neurology, Neurobiology andPsychiatry
The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is pleased to be able to offer two fully-funded Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Awards (DHPA) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Each award covers the cost of postgraduate tuition fees at the overseas rate and provides a grant at a standard research council rate.

BBSRC GlaxoSmithKline DHPA: Closing date 30 July 2005
A fully-funded scholarship that will enable an eligible international student to study for a PhD ( Nutrient acquisition in a human gut symbiont: molecular analysis of the carbohydrate sensing apparatus of Bacteriodes thetaiotaomicron). Based in our School of Biomedical Sciences (Institute for Cell and Molecular Biosciences) under the supervision of Dr David Bolam and Professor Harry Gilbert.
BBSRC Johnson and Johnson DHPA: Closing Date 30 July 2005
A fully-funded scholarship that will enable an eligible international student to study for a PhD (Development and validation of an imaging model of affective disorder using functional magnetic resonance imaging in rats). Based in our School of Neurology, Neurobiology and Psychiatry under the supervision of Dr Mohammed Shoaib and Professor Andrew Blamire.
