Two PhD studentships are available from October 2005 in the Schoolof Engineering & Applied Science. The projects are funded byindustrial CASE awards and will be under the supervision of Dr Sai Gu.The research will focus on using CFD methods to simulate industrialprocesses and applications. The successful applicants will be able todevelop comprehensive CFD modelling skills such as multiphase flow,turbulent models or chemical reaction through research.
Prospective applicants will have been awarded a first or uppersecond class Honours degree or a Master's degree in a relevantengineering or science subject. Experience with CFD through MSc orundergraduate projects is also essential. The studentships cover bothtuition fees (EU student rate) and a maintenance allowance of £12,000per year for UK students.
