Applications are invited for PhD studentships in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Biomedical research at Edinburgh is increasingly focussed upon interdisciplinary themes of major healthcare importance and these prestigious scholarships seek to promote interdisciplinary research within the College’s research centres.
Applicants are asked to select from a range of scholarship projects proposed by the following research centres:

Centre for Cardiovascular Science
Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences
Centre for Infectious Diseases
Centre for Inflammation Research
Centre for Integrative Physiology
Centre for Molecular Medicine
Centre for Neuroscience Research

Eight PhD scholarships will be offered. The scholarships include payment of tuition fees at the UK/EU rate, a living allowance of £12,000 per annum, payment of research costs and an annual conference travel allowance. Non-EU citizens should also apply for an ORS award, to cover the tuition fees shortfall.
The scholarships are linked to Edinburgh’s Graduate School of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, which promotes excellence in postgraduate research and teaching in the life sciences, and offer participation in a well developed transferable skills training programme.
