We are offering a challenging position as a full-time PhD Student / Research Assistant within the newly created College of Management of Technology at EPFL, Lausanne. Our institute is focused on issues of Technology & Operations Management (TOM) such as coordination in new product introductions, operation and supply chain management, outsourcing management, management of technology standards and multi-firm collaborations.
Our research
Our research is primarily focused on issues specific to technology-based enterprises. We strongly encourage industry collaboration to help bridge between theory and practice. To ensure original, independent and rigorous research we typically provide for financial support. We base our work on stylized quantitative models that capture essential tradeoffs and offer managerial insights.

Your job
This position involves the following:
* Full responsibility for your own dissertation
* Research in close collaboration with industry partners
* Supervision of student projects and basic administrative support

Your qualifications
This position as a Research Assistant requires a master’s level education, preferably in the areas of Industrial Engineering or Operations Research. We seek candidates with strong mathematical backgrounds and a sincere interest in business-related topics such as supply chain management and issues specific to the management of technology-intensive products. Proficiency in English, strong team spirit, social skills, independence and a high level of motivation for academic research work motivated by relevant practical problems are other core qualifications.
