Job description
Experimentswith a true-triaxial frame to investigate fracture initiation innaturally fractured rock formations. The experiments represent thereality of hydraulic fracturing of boreholes at great depth. Advanceddata-acquisition with a state-of-the-art ultrasonic monitoring systemmakes it possible to determine the fracture propagation and fluid flowduring the test. Numerical modelling of the experiments will be used tointerpret the data. The successful candidate will be able to performexperiments and numerical simulations and is expected to make newcontributions in the set-up of the experimnets
