Job description

The PhD student will study the neuralcorrelates of visual attention, working memory, and conscious awarenessat the department Vision & Cognition in Amsterdam. The project aimsto characterize the interactions between cortical areas that areinvolved in low-level and high-level visual perception. The successfulapplicant will use single and multiple neuron recording techniques inbehaving monkeys.

Requirements

Required education/skills:The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cognitiveneuroscience, preferably with some experience in neurophysiologicaltechniques, and strong programming skills.

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2000 - 2500

Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2283
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 4 years
Maximum hours per week: 38

Additional conditions of employment:
The maximum gross monthly salary coming with a full-time appointment will amount to
Ã¢â€šÂ¬ 1.813,- in the first year and increase to Ã¢â€šÂ¬ 2.283,- per month in thefourth year according to the Collective Agreement for DutchUniversities (CAO-Nederlandse Universiteiten), excluding 8% holiday payand a year-end bonus. We offer an extensive package of fringe benefits.
