PHd-position in Bioinformatics, Computationalanalysis of genomes of lactic acid bacteria. The successful candidatewill work for three days a week at Corporate Research Deventer and twodays a week at the Bacterial Genomics Group (head Prof. Roland J.Siezen) at the center of Molecular and Biomolecular Informatics at theRadboud University Nijmegen

Requirements

Required education/skills:University Graduate
University degree in (bio) chemistry, biology or bioinformatics and astrong interest in applied research. Experience with a programminglanguage is desired but not a prerequisite

A PhD position (4 years AIO) is available inthe life sciences group of the Corporate Research department ofFriesland Foods. Friesland Foods is a worldwide operating company inthe field of dairy products and fruit juices. Focus of the researchproject is the computational analysis of the genomes of several lacticacid bacteria. Aim is to increase the understanding of the role thatthese microorganisms play in food production processes with specialinterest in the development of taste and aroma compounds. These studieswill be performed in close collaboration with the Center for Molecularand Biomolecular Informatics at the Radboud University Nijmegen

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 1000 - 1500
Salaryscale 10.
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2517
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 4 jaar
Maximum hours per week: 40
