Research Fellow (stipendiat SKO 1017)
PhD Research fellowship in Polymers - organic materials available at Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo, Group for Polymers - organic materials, within DEPA (DEmanding Polyolefin Application)

The DEPA project was initiated by a consortium of industry partners (NEXAN and BREDERO), universities (UiO and NTNU) and research institutions (SINTEF and NORNER).

The fellowship period is 3 years and devoted to ageing mechanisms for selected materials under different and relevant environmental conditions. The objective is to understand how chemical aging (changes in the chemical structure, such as degradation) and physical ageing (structural changes not related to chemical bonds) are related to molecular characteristics, morphology, and additives (stabilisers). Characterisation and accelerated testing will be important tools. Various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques will be used to identify molecular degradation, chemical changes, and reaction kinetics during aging.

Applicants should have a MSc. or equivalent degree within physics/physical chemistry and/or polymer science, with practical experience in spectroscopy, in particular NMR spectroscopy. The fellowship provides research training leading to the successful completion of a P.hD. degree. The fellowship requires admission to the research training programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. For more information see this link.
