Nederland: Doctoral Fellowships in Advanced NMR Spectroscopy Application in Biomedical Research

The NSRIM research school, based at the University of Nijmegen, theNetherlands, focusses on design and synthesis of new functionalmaterials and the study of their structure and properties. Nuclearmagnetic resonance (NMR) research plays an important role in thisresearch. The NSRIM center has excellent solid-state NMR facilities, including Chemagnetics CMX Infinity 300, 400 and 600 MHz spectrometersand a homebuilt 180 MHz spectrometer(www-solmr.sci.kun.nl/solmr/home.html). Furthermore a Varian 800 MHzspectrometer is accessible for solid state NMR. Finally, there is acollaboration with the Nijmegen high magnet field laboratory. In thenew HFML a 33 T Bitter magnet will be optimized for magnetic resonanceexperiments.

Marie Curie Fellowships:
Advanced NMR Spectroscopy
Applications in biomedical research and materials science

Ph.D. students interested in materials science or structural biologyand/or NMR methodology development are invited to apply for doctoralfellowships under the Marie Curie Fellowship Program for a six monthsstay at our laboratory. Candidates are expected to have a universitytraining in chemistry or physics for the solid- state NMR fellowships. For the biomolecular NMR fellowships also candidates with a molecularbiology training will be considered. An elementary background inquantum mechanics is necessary as well as an introductionary knowledgeof NMR spectroscopy.
For details, go to the Marie Curie Trainings Site information page.
