MICHAEL KIDGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN OPTICAL DESIGN
The Michael Kidger Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 to honour Michael JohnKidger, a well-respected teacher and member of the optical science andengineering community. From 2000 through 2004 the award has consistedof a study grant of $4,000. The 2005 award is expected to be awarded atthe SPIE Europe International Symposium, "Optical Systems Design,"Jena, Germany, 12 - 16 September 2005.
The selection criteria for the scholarship are:
- The Scholarship is to be awarded to a student of optical design.
- The candidate must meet the entry criteria for the chosen course of study or research.
- The candidate must have at least one year after the award to completion of his or her chosen course of study.
- Thecandidate must submit a summary (five pages maximum) of his or heracademic background and interest in pursuing training or research inoptical design. Limited supporting material may be attached.
