Master and PhD Scholarship in Engineering and Science, KIST, Korea
Degrees
Masterof Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees awarded tocandidates who complete the required coursework of the correspondingcourses.
Air Fares
The applicant should cover his/her own airfares.
Visas
Applicants, once accepted, must use the letter of admission and the notarized letter of guarantee to obtain the proper visa. Citizens of countries other than Korea must have a student visa or, if already residing in Korea, a permission stamp on their alien registration.
Alien Registration
Foreigners who stay in Korea for more than 90 days have to take Alien Registration procedures.
Application
The applicant is requested to include his/her TOEFL score (CBT 213 or higher) in the resume and enclose a copy of his/her official score certificate in the application packet.
(1) Those applying for each Division should submit the following documents required for each program.
- Applicants for Master's or Integrative Programs
- Completed Application Form; University or College GraduationCertificate or Proof of Expected Graduation; Undergraduate Transcript;Curriculum Vitae and Research Plan (Apply only for Integrative Programs) - Applicants for Doctoral Program
- Completed Application Form; University or College GraduationCertificate or Proof of Expected Graduation; Undergraduate Transcript;Curriculum Vitae and Research Plan (Apply only for IntegrativePrograms). - Inaddition to the documents listed above, TOEFL Score (=CBT213) fornon-native English speaking students. Additionally, recommendationletters from at least two professors of the current or graduatinguniversity, should also be submitted to the admission committee.
(2) Those under the Master's Program who want to apply for the Integrative Program should complete the Application Form and submit it to the Dean.
Admission Apraisal
Admissionis appraised by the Admission Committee after the receipt of therequired documents specified above, and the recommendation of theDivision head is required.
All applicants should keep in mind the change of admission timetable in IRDA as follows.
Applicationsfor the IRDA program will be accepted twice annually.Admission periodsare for both the Fall and Spring semesters.The current deadlines are asfollows:

Applicants are strongly recommended to submit their application packagebefore the application deadline.The admission approval notification ismade no later than 30 days before the beginning of the semester.
The scholarship awardees will be provided with a monthly stipend600,000 Korean won(around US $500) for Master, and 900,000 Korean won(around US $700) for Ph.D. programs throughout their study. No tuitionor registration fees are charged.
