For the academic year 2009/2010, SISSA offers the possibility of obtaining the Ph.D. degree in the following fields:

• Physics and Chemistry of Biological Systems (6 positions)
• Statistical Physics (5 positions)
• Theory of Elementary Particles (5 positions)
• Theory and Numerical Simulation of Condensed Matter (8 positions)

The School offers grants (currently € 1.040,00 net/month approximately), depending on the amount of funds available, to students who have made a specific request in their application. The grant is awarded for three years, extendable for a fourth year subject to approval by the School authorities and to the availability of funds. A contribution towards living expenses of the amount of € 1.200,00 gross per year will also be awarded to those who will submit a regular rent contract.
