12 Scholarships for attendance of a PhD program in Management, Economicsand Industrial Engineering: Politecnico di Milano

There are 12 vacant scholarships for PhD-students at the Department ofManagement, Economics, and Industrial Engineering of Politecnico diMilano. One of the scholarship is reserved to non Italian students. Theother 11 scholarships are open to both Italian and non Italian students.

The scholarships are for three years. They will start on 1-1-2007. Theyinclude a mandatory period (minimum 6 months) to be spent in a foreignacademic institution. The net amount of the scholarships is 826 EURO permonth (1.212 EURO per month in the semester spent abroad). The amount ofthe scholarships may be increased through participation in the teachingactivities at undergraduate, master and MBA/Executive level of theDepartment and in contract research activities.

• Firm-level effects of regulatory reforms in networkindustries
• IPOs and firms’ performances
• Entrepreneurship and finance
• Organization of domestic health care services
• Innovative models formarketing services control
• Internationalization of firms andproduction processes
• Price competition in international markets
• Analysis of operating risk and organization of transportation systems
• Logistics
• Data mining and business intelligence;
• Application ofoptimization methods and mathematical models for inductive learning tomanagement, public administration and biolife systems

The successful candidate must have a Master degree in a relevant socialscience or technical discipline (at least five year-universityeducation). He/she must have strong interests in applied research inmanagement, economics and/or industrial engineering. The Departmentoffers opportunities to attend conferences, to meet and interact withinternational researchers, and to present preliminary work inhigh-quality discussion workshops.
